The problem with benchmarking

Benchmarks show list price. They never show the margin.

Most IT resellers mark up products by 25 to 35%. They have no obligation to tell you.

Every renewal, every licence and every hardware order carries a margin you can't see on the invoice. If you're new in post, the contracts you didn't sign are a fair place to start asking questions. Clearview is budget optimisation for the IT budget you already have. It gives you a clean baseline of what your IT should cost, and frees money you can put into your cyber security.

The Clearview guarantee

Three numbers, written into the contract.

15%

Margin cap

Our margin on anything we buy on your behalf is capped at 15%. Contractually committed, documented and verifiable.

100%

Invoice transparency

Ask to see what we paid for anything, at any time, and we'll show you the vendor's invoice.

0

Hidden incentives

No undisclosed vendor rebates or incentives. We have no financial reason to recommend the wrong product.

The Clearview process

From a first conversation to a report you own.

  1. We talk

A short call to understand your IT spend and decide together whether an audit is worth doing.

  2. We sign an NDA

A mutual NDA protects your data and your supplier terms before you share anything.

  3. You share your IT spend

A sample of recent invoices or contracts is enough to start. Licences, hardware, support and renewals.

  4. We run Clearview

We price the same products and terms in the market, vendor-neutral, so the comparison is like for like. We'll agree timings with you upfront.

  5. You get the report

Vendor price, margin and market rate, line by line, in one document you keep.

  6. We walk you through it

We explain the findings, tell you what's fair and show you what could change. The decision is yours.

What you walk away with

A baseline you can take to the board.

  • [x]A line-by-line view of your IT spend against market rate
  • [x]A clear figure you could reallocate to cyber security
  • [x]A list of contracts and renewal dates worth reviewing
  • [x]Findings you keep, whatever you decide next
Our fair-deal promise

If it shows you're getting a fair deal, we'll tell you. If you take our numbers back to your current provider, no hard feelings.

Mike (Incommsec) gave us a clear, independent view of our IT setup in a single session. He confirmed our support contract was fairly priced for what it covers, and put a real number on what an outage would cost us per day, which highlighted gaps we had not considered, such as cyber cover. Practical, straight-talking advice with no hard sell.

Questions

What finance directors ask us first.

Is the audit really free?
Yes. You don't pay for the audit and you keep the findings. If you later buy through Clearview, our margin is capped at 15%.
Do we need to involve our IT team?
The audit is a commercial review of what you pay and on what terms. Your IT team can join if you'd like them to, and nothing changes in your systems.
What if we're already getting a good deal?
Then we'll tell you, and you'll have the evidence to show the board.
Do we have to move all our purchasing?
Clearview works best when it covers most of your IT spend. A capped 15% margin is only sustainable for both sides at that scale. Some supplier relationships stay as they are for good reasons, and we'll work around those.
